It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)

Tornadoes and earthquakes and hurricanes, oh my....and let's not forget...the rapture. Nothing, I repeat, nothing ever really happens in the way of major weather in New England other than Nor'easter (rain or snow) but we're used to that! All of the aforementioned things have happened during the the last three months. Somethings amiss. Something in the atmosphere and the world in general.

I'm Mrs. I Hate The Media and how they hype up all the wrong things and make every storm that shows on their radar, the BIG ONE, that's going to wipe us all out. This past weekend, they made Irene seem like the storm from The Day After Tomorrow. Now, while she missed some places, that bitch wreaked havoc in others and in my neighborhood. I read a report just this morning about another hurricane that's forming and on it's way. Grrrrrreat!

In all honesty, I went to sleep with this song in my head on Sunday night.

That's Not Cute

I cannot stand bad ass kids! Children that are flip at the mouth or have behavioral issues and no clinical diagnoses to explain their behavior make me itch.

This past weekend, I went to a birthday party/BBQ. There was this little boy there and I swear, I wanted to punch him straight in his face. He was so flip!! I couldn't do anything but stand there with my mouth wide open in disbelief.

He had so much attitude. There was neck and eye rolling to boot. Mind you, he was engaging in conversation with an adult. At some point in their exchange, he said, "Listen, I am a grown 7 year old....." Excuse me! When in the world did seven become grown? What bills do you pay? What life experience do you have? That right there should have been a pop in the mouth.

There are other children that I encounter that don't seem to realize the difference between themselves and adults in conversation. Never in conversation with an adult, should a child say, "You liar." My friends daughter said that and before I knew it, my hand was reaching across to pop her in the mouth. My cousin has this thing for sucking his teeth at adults when he doesn't hear what he wants. Yeah....that's not okay. We were driving along one day, I responded to whatever he was asking and he damn near sucked the enamel off his teeth. With that, my hand was at the back of his head.

When in the world did children become so rude? When I was coming up, talking back to any adult, was a major offense. I wouldn't dare call an adult a liar. If I sucked my teeth, my mother would threaten to remove them. I don't know what it wrong with the children of today. Maybe there need to be a lot more pops in the mouth and they'll figure out that the way they are carrying on, is not okay. LOL. No seriously.
